Fork Spreaders and False Frames serve the same purpose, just in slightly different applications. While both formats are designed to widen the fork carriage to support wide and or flimsy loads, the False Frames tend to be favored in less dramatic carriage expansion application where the modification is intended to be permanent. False frames can be equipped with quick attach hooks to allow for rapid change over, but most are installed more permanently. Fork Mounted Fork Spreaders are designed to be installed and removed quickly and easily. The intent is to allow the lift to serve in multiple roles and not be cast as a dedicated unit. The sacrifice is that the inner forks slide into "Sleeves" that are the mounting mechanism, this creates some additional fork thickness which occasionally is undesirable. Carriage Mounted Fork Spreaders are designed for high capacity or extra-wide applications requiring a dedicated lift for the particular service. Capacities and widths are near unlimited.
