AB Series Pipe Hold-Down Clamps are a custom-engineered forklift attachment designed to safely secure and stabilize pipe, tubing, and other cylindrical materials during transport and handling. Built for durability and consistent clamping force, these clamps help prevent load shifting while improving operator control and job site safety.
Designed to mount at the ends of the forklift carriage side plates, the AB Series provides a clean, efficient setup that maintains full fork usability. When raised to a full 90-degree position, the clamp clears the forks completely—allowing operators to handle standard palletized loads without obstruction.
Description & Usage
The AB series pipe hold-down clamp is designed to mount at the ends of the forklift carriage side plates.
It raises fully 90 degrees. Operator vision is not obstructed. When fully raised, the forks are clear of obstruction. The full fork length is usable.
One hydraulic supply group is required. The AB ships with all hosing and plumbing installed. Two hoses from the truck connect to two inlet adapters on the clamp’s valve.

The clamp arms move simultaneously. Both touch the pipe and release the pipe at the same time. The arm control mechanism keeps the secondary arm aligned to the primary arm through the full range of movement. The secondary arm stays clear of the pipe until contact at the tips. Arms will not inadvertently drag the pipe backward if the lift is aborted or the truck is backed out for any reason.
At full stroke, the arms are in contact with the fork tips or pipe. The special actuators leverage the secondary clamp to be placed down onto the pipe. The clamping bar will seek to level out on the pipe rack. Odd sizes can be clamped back against the fork shank. The AB is designed to securely clamp pipe anywhere along the fork blade.

- It maintains the secondary in the full 90-degree position and eliminates rattle and clank during travel.
- It ensures that the tips are always the first point of contact.
- It clears the secondary up and away from the rack if the operator is maneuvering for the lift.
- Provides for positive contact of the actuator with the forks or the pipe, actuating the downward clamping movement of the secondary clamp bar.
- The AB allows the forks to be used with no interference from the clamp arms or frame. It opens up a full 90 degrees to clear the way for regular loads to be lifted.
